Exploring Engineering Day at Rensselaer

Today, SWE and RPI partnered with each other to put on their annual Exploring Engineering Day. EED is RPI’s way of showing young students how fun and interesting engineer is. There were two sessions during the day and each session had around 200 excited students in them. Some of the activities for the day included gum drop bridges, rubber band cars and egg drop challenges.

SWE asked for volunteers and as always, the Greek community answered. I personally saw Pi Kappa Phi, Pi Kappa Alpha, Pi Beta Phi, Alpha Chi Row and Alpha Gamma Delta.  Each volunteer worked at least one of the sessions for five hours and some even stayed the entire day and worked ten hours total.
